The lunar module of the Apollo spacecraft is a landing module, part of the Apollo spacecraft, built for the American Apollo program by Grumman Corporation for a crew of two people for the purpose of delivery from lunar orbit to the surface of the Moon and back. Six such modules made a successful landing on the moon in 1969-1972.
