The Bismarck is a battleship of the German Navy, one of the most famous ships of the Second World War. Named after the first Chancellor of the German Empire, Otto von Bismarck. During his first (and only) campaign in May 1941, he sank the British battlecruiser Hood in the Danish Strait. The hunt of the British fleet for the Bismarck, which began after that, ended three days later with its sinking.
