Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a four-seat jet carrier-based interceptor/multi-purpose fighter of the fourth generation with variable wing geometry, manufactured by Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation.

It was developed in the early 1970s to replace the F-4 Phantom II fighter in the US Navy. In service since 1974. Decommissioned by the US Navy in 2006 and replaced by the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet
